Description

Hey everyone!

There are already some good solutions to this topic, but I simply enjoy designing things and therefore usually make everything myself.
I hadn't originally planned to post this model, but after several requests, I decided to share it with everyone!

This rack can be easily adapted to your specific needs.
As you can see, I designed it for my 10-watt laser version of my H2D.

I love it when my things still look like new after years of use, so I thought flexible inserts with a soft surface would be a great idea!

A positive side effect of printing these parts separately is that you can simply omit them if you don't need them.
Then the compartments can be used for other items!

Disclaimer: The laser module insert only fits the 10-watt version!

At this time, I unfortunately cannot confirm or deny whether the pocket for the laser module insert would be large enough to accommodate an insert adapted for the 40-watt version of the laser module  because i don't own one to test.
I simply haven't been able to find the dimensions of the 40-watt module online.
Therefore, it would be great if someone could contact me so I can confirm or deny its basic compatibility.

The inserts for the individual modules and nozzles are printed from TPU.
The nozzle inserts are the same as those in my "Padded H2 Nozzle Storage Rack."
So, if you've already printed that one, you can reuse the inserts here!

Vortek Induction Hotend Inserts will follow!

The profile for the Rack itself features both a single color and a dual color version.
I kinda like the lighter color bottom, it makes it more easy to see if there are small objects in the pockets, but it's of course up to you :)

Assembly is super easy going. No Hardware needed.
Just slide in the inserts. The TPU feet are “flexed” into position on the bottom of the rack.

If you'd like to support my work, I'd be delighted to receive your likes or even boosts!
If you're into more complex projects, feel free to check out my other models or follow me :)

Kind regards, Simon, M.I.M

Here's the dimensions for the 40w laser module. Hope it helps :) Let me know if you need some more measurements.

thanks dude! but damn it, thats close, too close. the pocket is roughly 87x75mm, so the bottom portion of the module would already be a pressure fit without tpu padding. if i still wanted to also enclose the locking lever, the base would need to grow a good 15mm or so i‘ll see how i can adapt it

Yea, it's a chunky unit for sure. I'm currently just storing it lying down in a multibin drawer myself, that I made a simple insert for. A lot messier, but it's hidden in the drawer anyway for now ^^

You can modify this model to fit the 40W laser module and release it as a new model.

The system is great for storing all the parts that came with the printer, and it's also convincing from a design perspective Thank you for sharing I have also created two inserts for the nozzles of my HC2 so that I can really store everything

Thank you very much! I actually wanted to make the inserts gray, but I didn't have any gray TPU on hand and well, patience isn't my strong suit 🤭 I've now ordered a roll because I like the combination so much and it fits perfectly with my other designs. Thank you very much for the photo! Best regards from Vienna

I love the concept and the layout. Have you thought about releasing one for those of us that don't have the laser version? I'd love to see just the tray, perhaps a gridfinity version for the hotends, if you have the time and inclination. Just curious, what is the tray to the left of the hotends?

hey, thank you! what you could do is just leave away the TPU inserts for the laser module. this way you‘d have just a regular storage compartment that could be used for all kinds of stuff! what can be seen to the left of the hotends is the pen holder module that can be used in combination with the cutting module

Hey, thanks for the response. This issue I have is I don't have a lot of desk space, so I would be storing this in a tool drawer and the laser section would be just too tall. The drawer I want to put it in has only 90mm clearance. Having said that, I see the laser modules are on sale, so I am having a good think about getting the 10W laser, so, your model would be almost perfect. On another note, I am currently printing out your H2 build plate magazine, about 2/3 done and it is looking great. One thing I have really noticed is your attention to detail and the quality of your designs are top notch. Also have printed your retractable dry box, both versions.

the price for the upgrade is really good atm! there‘s a lot of hate for the laser version and i really don‘t get it. i‘d also not recommend it if you‘re planning to do a lot of laser tasks. but if it‘s only for occasional use like light engraving, it‘s perfectly fine imo. thank you so much for the kind words - i really try my best :)

oh you‘re right, the pictures that are only right now don‘t properly show that. i use those pockets for badic tools like a few screwdrivers, a bed scraper, small IPA spraybottle ,stanley knives and so on. nothing complicated, just basic stuff :)
