Captain Jack Harkness (Doctor Who) – 1:10 Scale Figure (3D Print)

This 1:10 scale 3D print depicts Captain Jack Harkness in a classic, confident stance: legs apart, torso upright, and both hands resting on his hips. The pose is very “Jack” — relaxed, self-assured, and ready for trouble — and works well as a standalone display piece or as part of a Doctor Who-themed diorama.

Sculpt / Design Details

  • Head & hair: Short hairstyle with a swept, slightly raised front section. The face is calm and focused, with subtle features that read well at 1:10 scale.
  • Coat: The long coat is the visual centerpiece: wide lapels, clean outer edges, and long flowing tails. The back shows nice cloth “fall” with vertical folds that add depth and realism.
  • Shirt: Under the coat is a buttoned shirt with a turned collar and two chest pockets. Buttons and seams are modeled clearly enough to pop after priming/painting.
  • Belt & gear: A prominent belt with a large buckle sits at the waist, including additional straps/gear elements that give the figure a more “action” look and add surface detail for washes and dry brushing.
  • Pants & boots: The pants show natural wrinkles around the knees and hips. The boots are sturdy and slightly heeled, helping the figure look grounded and stable.

Print Notes (FDM-friendly)

This model appears well-suited for FDM printing at 1:10, with a good balance between detail and strength.

Recommended orientation

  • Print upright (standing), as shown. This keeps the coat folds and shirt details clean and minimizes visible layer artifacts on the face.

Supports

  • Use tree/organic supports (build plate only) for best results.
  • Likely support areas:
    • Undersides of the coat tails
    • Small overhangs around hands/belt/gear
    • Minor support under collar/lapels depending on your slicer settings

Suggested settings (starting point)

  • Layer height: 0.12 mm (0.16–0.20 mm also works if you want faster prints)
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Walls/perimeters: 3
  • Infill: 10–15% (gyroid or grid)
  • Brim: recommended if your bed adhesion is inconsistent, especially due to the small footprint of the boots

Post-Processing & Painting Tips

  • Carefully remove supports around the coat edges and belt details to avoid gouging.
  • A light sanding pass (especially on the face and coat) improves the final look dramatically.
  • Prime before painting; the sculpted folds and pockets respond well to:
    • Wash to bring out creases and seams
    • Dry brushing on coat edges, lapels, and folds for highlights

Display

At roughly 1:10 scale, this figure is ideal for shelves, desk displays, or themed scenes. The strong silhouette from the coat and the wide stance make it visually striking even in a single-color print.
