UPDATE 07.05.2026

A print profile for the back plate has been added, I equipped it with small connectors and additionally secured it with superglue

I am open to suggestions for improvement

UPDATE 04.04.2026

A print profile with a Dräger variant has been added to make it look as realistic as possible

It involves many hours of printing, but the result pays off

This breathing apparatus dummy for youth fire brigades was specially developed for training and exercise purposes
It serves as a realistic simulation of a compressed air breathing apparatus and is ideal for training children and young people

A special highlight is the functional screw valve, which can be opened and closed. This allows handling and procedures related to breathing protection to be practiced playfully and practically, entirely without real compressed air

The thread on the screw valve must be broken in and made smooth with pliers

PVC Pipe:

An HT pipe (KGEM DN/OD 160x4.0 BL 500mm) serves as the body of the cylinder
Before proceeding, this pipe must first be cut to the correct length

Basically, you can use a hand saw for this, but experience shows that this quickly becomes inaccurate. Therefore, I recommend using a circular saw if possible
When sawing, a small piece of pipe can remain, as the cut edge will be deburred and reworked afterwards anyway

It is important that the cut is as straight as possible. Larger miscuts cannot be compensated for later and make the next steps unnecessarily difficult
In the end, the pipe should have a total length of 350 mm. The dummy is robust, lightweight, and safe to use, and supports training in the areas of:

Equipment knowledge

Familiarization with breathing apparatus

Tactical training for youth

⚠️ Note: This is a dummy without compressed air function – intended exclusively for exercise and training purposes of the youth fire brigade

⚠️The web cover image was created using ChatGPT, it is NOT a real person
