Description

The CableLoop is designed for organizing your longer cables as part of the Underware system. The model by JoshPrints was for MultiGrid but I have remixed it to work for openGrid.

I totally remade the models to create two types: 3x3 for smaller/shorter cable loops and 6x3 for the longer cables.

To use them, you install the snap in the middle of the 3x3 (two snaps for the 6x3, with some separation) and screw in the stud. The stud has some ‘wings’ to help your cable stay in place while you wind it around and then install the cover.

There are a variety of inlet and outlet options:

  • 3x3
    • Straight
    • U-Turn
    • 90° Bend
    • Square (cut the tabs to decide which gates to open)
  • 6x3
    • Straight
    • U-Turn
    • 90° Bend (plus a mirrored version)
    • S-bend (plus a mirrored version)
    • H
    • Multi (cut the thin walls to decide which gates to open)

On top of the above variations, there is also a ‘Thin’ version which was designed to print a bit faster and save some filament. HOWEVER, I don't recommend using these ones as the holding strength is quite a bit lower. So print these types at your own risk and still give me 5 stars (lol). That said, I have printed some of these (the more see through ones).

I've added text to the print profile so that you can print a label on the first layer in a different colour if you wish. Of course, you don't have to and can just change the print colour to the same colour as the base colour, or simply delete the text if you don't want to print with a label.

As far as materials, I printed all of mine in PLA and it seems to hold up really well. I'm sure PETG, ABS and some others are probably good options too.
