Description

Description

A vertical rack mount adapter for the Arris S33/S34 Cable Modems.

The original model on MakerWorld was here:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2246843-arris-surfboard-s33-s34-rack-mount-adapter

which in turn was a remix from here:
https://www.printables.com/model/953895-arris-surfboard-s33-rack-mount-bracket

I did not have additional room in my 10in DeskPi T2 rack for the modem because it is slightly larger than 1U.  However, because I had adequate cooling and room on the back of the rack i decided to do a vertical mount.  So I moved the mounting bracket to the top and added a second one that has a groove for additional screws.  I'm only 2 weeks into my 3D journey so that is why I didn't make it have screw holes in the top bracket as I'm still learning, but it worked for my needs.  It does need support enabled to print and came out well with my PETG filament.  Someone else could definitely add correctly aligned holes (although I actually came almost exactly) and probably flip the entire model to not need supports.

As with the original, you will need additional hardware to attach the endcap to the main frame.  The below were listed from the original model:
4x M3 Threaded Inserts (L5 would be most ideal but any length is acceptable)
4x M3-.8x10mm bolts

Or if you're lazy like me just use some fan screws you have lying about.
