A simple yet very practical housing for strong magnets. Perfect for whiteboards, refrigerators, or magnetic bulletin boards in the office or home. The magnet is inserted during printing and is thus securely and invisibly enclosed

This is a design for a round, grippy holding magnet. The model is designed so that the magnet is embedded into the object during the printing process (Embedded Magnet / Print-in-Place). This ensures the magnet is firmly secured, cannot fall out, and the surface touching the magnetic board is smooth (only a thin layer of plastic between the magnet and the wall to prevent scratches)

Required Hardware (BOM):

  • 1x Round Magnet (preferably Neodymium for strong adhesion)
  • Diameter: 15 mm
  • Thickness/Height: 4 mm

Printing Instructions & IMPORTANT NOTE: I have uploaded a ready-made print profile for Bambu Studio/Orca Slicer

  1. Use the provided profile: It already contains a programmed pause at the exact correct layer height (just before the opening for the magnet is closed)
  2. During the pause: When the printer stops and the print head moves to the side, carefully place the 15x4mm magnet into the recess. Press it firmly so that it sits flush and does not protrude
  3. Continue printing: Restart the print on the printer display. The printer will print the top layers over the magnet and seal it
  • Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS all work well
  • Supports: None required

Customization & Source File (Fusion 360): Do you have magnets in a different size? No problem

I have included the original Fusion 360 (.f3d) file. The design is kept relatively simple, so you can easily adjust the parameters for the diameter and height of the magnet recess to fit your own supplies

Have fun printing and organizing! If you like the model, I would appreciate a "Like" or a photo of your finished make
