Description

The Partygon

Design Overview

  • Polygon / geometric speaker enclosure optimized for strength and airflow
  • Built for mono, party-style output projecting in multiple directions
  • Designed for DIY assembly

Important DIY Notice

The Partygon is not a fully polished, turnkey product.

  • There are no internal mounting provisions for the battery or amplifier
  • Builders are expected to improvise mounting solutions (foam tape, brackets, printed trays, Velcro, etc.)
  • Internal space is very tight once all speakers, wiring, and passive radiators are installed
  • Cable management and component placement are part of the build process and will vary by component choice

This design is intended for DIY builders who are comfortable adapting layouts and solving fitment challenges.

Speaker & Electronics Design

Speaker Wiring – 6× 4Ω Coaxial Speakers (≈2.66Ω Load)

The Partygon speaker array uses a series-parallel configuration to achieve an approximate 2.66Ω total impedance, ideal for high-current Class-D Bluetooth amplifiers.

STEP 1: Create 3 Series Pairs

Wire the speakers into three identical series pairs:

  • Pair A: Speaker 1 ( + ) → ( − ) Speaker 2
  • Pair B: Speaker 3 ( + ) → ( − ) Speaker 4
  • Pair C: Speaker 5 ( + ) → ( − ) Speaker 6

Each pair results in:

4Ω + 4Ω = 8Ω per pair

STEP 2: Wire the 3 Pairs in Parallel

Connect the three 8Ω pairs together:

  • Combine all remaining positive (+) leadsAMP +
  • Combine all remaining negative (−) leadsAMP −

Final Wiring Result

  • Total load: ~2.66Ω
  • Topology: 3 × 8Ω series pairs wired in parallel
  • Outcome: High output, efficient current draw, and stable operation with supported amplifiers

Electronics Compatibility

3D Printing & Assembly Notes

  • Speaker cutouts do not include mounting holes (user-drilled)
  • Screws go through handle into the speaker securing it to the top plate.
  • Top Plate is Glued to the top of the PartyGon.
