Description

Stop the Rattle, Block the Dust/Moisture: The Essential AMS Hub Protector!

I designed the AMS Filament Hub Plug after noticing a frustrating trend with PETG prints. If the A1 sat idle for even a day, I would hear "popping" and see bubbles during the initial calibration lines. This moisture ingress into the PTFE tubes was ruining the most critical first steps of my prints. While other plugs exist, I found they either didn't match the sleek A1 aesthetic or relied on thin, fragile overhangs for their "slide-on" functionality that didn't print well.

Whether you are looking to protect your filament from humidity, just want to eliminate that annoying toolhead rattle or just to have a cleaner look, this plug will solve your issues while looking like it came with your Bambu Lab printer.

Features

  • Dust & Moisture Barrier: Seals the top of the Filament Hub to prevent dust and ambient humidity from entering the PTFE tubes and reaching the hotend while the printer is idle.
  • Anti-Vibration Design: Secures the black retaining collets to eliminate "rattle" or vibration noise during high-speed printing movements.
  • 4 Design Options:
    • Standard Version: Provides a clean, 360-degree seal for unused ports.
    • Easy-Slip Version: Features a side-slit for quick installation or removal without needing to disconnect your existing PTFE tubes.
    • Standard Version for 2 PTFE tubes
    • Easy-Slip Version for 2 PTFE tubes
  • Snug Tapered Fit: Engineered with a 1.1° taper to ensure the plug tightens as it is inserted, creating a reliable friction fit that won't vibrate loose.
  • OEM Aesthetics: Minimalist design language and rounded corners to match the official Bambu Lab toolhead appearance.
  • Quick Alignment: Integrated chamfers on the bottom edge allow for effortless "blind" insertion.

Specifications

  • Compatibility: Bambu A1 and Bambu A1 Mini
  • Filament Type: Tested in PLA. Should work well with anything.
  • Filament Usage: less than 1 gram

Hi, were you printing onto a clean build plate? A brim should never be needed for prints that are only a few grams. I would also check the z height of first layer. Brims are usually used to prevent warping of large surface area prints or adhesion for tall prints with small first layer areas. I hope some of these tips helps.

yes the plates cleaned after every use I have printed a few small things with a 3mm brim seems to help abit just for shapes that stack and lean in a one direction was just a thought is all I’ll try again and see what happens because I’d love this piece for my double wall mount

Just a though, are you seeing gaps in the first layer? That might be why it isn't biting onto the plate. Flow rate calibration would help if it more than just first layer with gaps. I found a calibration test for a low flow rate to show.
