Universal Bicycle Phone Holder (iPhone 11 Optimized)

This project was inspired by the project of @bust4rhymes who in turn drew inspiration from maxwxyz but I redesigned the entire thing from scratch, adapting the measurements for an iPhone 11 with a case.This smartphone holder is designed for those seeking stability and security during their bike or MTB rides. The design is optimized for an iPhone 11 with a case, but it adapts to any device with similar dimensions.

Design Technical Specifications

• Handlebar Compatibility: 25 mm Diameter.
• Smartphone Housing Dimensions: 154 mm x 79 mm (Maximum Thickness: 13 mm).
• Required Hardware:
  • 2x M5 16 mm bolts (for handlebar attachment).
  • 2x M5 10 mm bolts (for attaching the cover to the handlebar mount).
  • 4x M5 Nuts (standard, 8 mm width across flats).

Assembly Instructions (Hardware Integration)

To ensure maximum aesthetic cleanliness and robustness, the design includes the insertion of 2 "embedded" M5 nutsdirectly into the print:

1. Set a pause in your slicer at layer 100.
2. Insert the two M5 nuts into the appropriate slots (the 10mm bolts will be needed here).
3. Resume printing to seal them inside.
4. Use the other 2 nuts and M5 bolts to tighten the clamp around the handlebar.

3D Printing Tips

• Recommended Material: PETG or ABS. PLA is strongly discouraged for outdoor use, as it may soften in the sun or become too rigid and fragile to vibrations.
• I used PLA to test its durability 
• Supports: Required. The model is designed to have easy-to-remove supports.
• Infill: At least 25-30% recommended (Gyroid or Tri-hexagon) for increased mechanical strength.
• Walls: At least 3 or 4 to ensure the thread and structural integrity.
