Templar Great Helm
This medieval Templar helmet is a detailed replica of a classic Great Helm from the High Middle Ages. The model combines an authentic look with a purposefully print-friendly design and is excellently suited for FDM 3D printers.
Design & Form
• Cylindrical-conical basic shape with a helmet basket slightly tapered upwards
• Characteristic Templar cross as an applied reinforcement on the front
• Horizontal eye slits with clear, clean edges
• Evenly arranged breathing and ventilation holes in the lower front area
• Surrounding lower edge with indicated metal frame
• Side and rear rows of rivets for a realistic look
• Back side closed and kept plain – ideal for print stability
The top side is flat and closed, giving the helmet a very stable geometry and allowing it to be printed optimally upside down.
3D Print Optimization
• Printable upside down (opening facing up)
• Overhangs are deliberately kept moderate
• Eye slits and holes designed so that hardly any supports are needed
• Very uniform wall guidance → clean layer image
• No critical undercuts
Recommended Printers:
• Optimal for Bambu Lab H2D / H2S
• Also suitable for other large FDM printers
