OmniScape Medium — minimalist terrarium with real attitude (and real function).

OmniScape Medium is a clean, modern vertical terrarium built for keepers who want a sharp look on the shelf and a setup that’s genuinely practical for the animal.

The tall layout makes it ideal for species that love climbing and vertical space — without sacrificing airflow, safety, or everyday usability.

Great for:

  • Mantises (praying mantis)
  • Jumping spiders
  • Stick insects
  • Arboreal spiders
  • Juvenile amphibians & reptiles that prefer vertical setups

What it’s designed for

  • Easy assembly
  • Sturdy build (no wobble)
  • Ultra-efficient adjustable gravity ventilation
  • Clean, minimalist aesthetics

Specs

  • Overall size: 15 × 15 × 29 cm (5.91 × 5.91 × 11.42 in)
  • Side + back panels: 125 × 220 mm, 2 mm thick
  • Door glass panel: 120 × 220 mm, 2 mm thick
  • Door closure: cylindrical magnet 4 × 4 mm (press-fit)
  • Hinge system: two 1 cm pieces of cut PLA/PETG used as hinge pins, inserted into dedicated holes in the door + frame (simple, clean, reliable)
  • Top feeding port: integrated upper feeding hatch for safer feeding — also prepared for a future lighting mount/upgrade (coming soon)
  • Ventilation control: airflow is tuned via the infill modifier in your slicer/print options
  • Modular ventilation panels: separate mountable vent panels — easy to swap or replace anytime
  • Extra option (plate No. 9): an additional replacement panel you can use instead of glass — a mesh panel with customizable density, allowing full ventilation when needed

Assembly tip (IMPORTANT)

When printing the triangular pins/dowels, insert them in this exact order:

38 mm (longest) → bottom base section → 4 pcs
28 mm (medium) → top frame section → 4 pcs
9 mm (shortest) → top lid → 4 pcs

This prevents issues with the shallower holes in the top lid and ensures everything clamps down properly.

Print & fit notes

Tested with Bambu PLA Matte and SUNLU PLA+ / PLA HS.
The fit is intentionally tight — don’t be afraid to use some force (even a gentle tap) to fully seat the parts. Everything locks in solid and is built to handle it.

If you prefer a softer assembly:

  • scale the pins down by ~5% (or ~0.07–0.1 mm)
  • and use a bit of glue if you notice any looseness

If you’d like the files, photos, or a full step-by-step build guide — let me know.

absolutely awesome print thanks for it for sure! I wish a version with a lamp holder would follow, as I had to glue the current one at the top, which covers parts of the feeder hatch and ventilation. But mega beautiful design!

Thank you so much! That honestly means a lot — I put a lot of effort into making everything feel cohesive and harmonious, so I’m really happy you love it. I’m currently preparing the next models, and feedback (and photos) like this gives me so much more energy and motivation to create even more. Thanks for the support!

Hey, did you also happen to create a complete gauze lid for this?

Other models have that option – but if you let me know, I can make one for this model too.

hi this is amazing, I love all of your design. I hope to be able to design things like this in the future. I have been looking for something like this for a while now. I need it for my uroplatus ebenaui babies that I’ve produced. the only problem is that I need the whole top to be vents to allow uvb and LED bulbs to be able to benefit the animals and plants. is there any simple fix for this? I was wondering if it could just be as simple having a modifier over most of the lid? the geckos should be ready in about 2 weeks. would it be possible for you to help me out? I would appreciate it so so so so much

Turned out great. Just waiting for the acrylic to arrive so I can cut it to size and I'll post a pic.
