Description

This is an original series Mk III Dalek in 1/10th scale. Based on plans from the Project Dalek Forum site.

I think this model turned out really well, printed on the Bambu Textured PEI plate the slats and mesh look cool.

Hope you enjoy the look of the model as much as I do.

Update 2026/02/5

  • Updated the Eye stalk so the disks are now separate components that you can print in a different colour.
  • Improved the chamfer on the shoulder top tabs, makes them easier to insert.
  • Tweaked the plunger cup so it prints a bit cleaner.

Assembly

Most of the model just snaps together, with glue only required for the Plunger, Gun and Eye Stalk by default.

Some hints for putting it together:

  1. The Skirt Hemispheres just snap in; some may require a bit of a push.
  2. Assemble the Shoulder as a unit, including the Mesh, add the four connecters to the slots in the top. You can leave the slats off till later.
  3. Assemble the Neck, then add to the shoulders. It is a tight fit, just jiggle and push and it should go together OK. You can then add it to the skirt and add the slats.
  4. The dome goes together easily; the lights may require glue. When printed all in PLA Basic the fit tightly, but in the pictured model they are printed using PLA Matte and needed some glue to hold them in place.
  5. When adding the Eye Stalk, insert the Pivot into the Dome first. Note that on the pivot there are bumps on either side, these should be at the bottom, they will snap into the Dome slot.
  6. Then glue the Eye Stalk, Disks, Gun and Plunger components together.
  7. When inserting the Gun and Plunger make sure to push them into place using the knob at the end so you don't break the stalks.
  8. Any parts that seem loose, just glue into place.
