This 3D model represents a protective enclosure for a lithium battery, designed to provide mechanical protection and basic impact resistance.

The enclosure consists of two separate parts: a lower shell and an upper cover, optimized for FDM 3D printing.

The recommended printing material is PETG, selected for its impact resistance, slight flexibility, thermal stability, and durability, which make it suitable for lithium battery housing applications.

The lower part of the enclosure is designed to be printed in vase mode (spiralized outer wall), creating a continuous, seamless structure with uniform wall thickness. This approach reduces print time, improves surface quality, and minimizes weak points caused by layer starts and stops.

The upper part is printed using standard print settings and features a sliding-fit connection that allows it to be inserted onto the lower shell.

The sliding interface ensures proper alignment, stable retention, and easy assembly without the need for screws or adhesives. Tolerances are designed to account for PETG’s slight flexibility, allowing a secure but removable fit.

The enclosure design includes:

  • Smooth internal surfaces to protect the battery
  • Sufficient clearance for thermal expansion
  • A compact, lightweight external form

This enclosure is intended for functional prototyping or practical use where ease of assembly and reliable protection are required.
