Mercedes Oil Filter Cap Removal Tool – 14-Point, 74.5 mm AF
This is a 14-point oil filter cap removal tool designed for Mercedes engines using a 74.5 mm across-flats oil filter housing.
I’ve added +0.2 mm clearance (74.7 mm AF) to ensure a reliable fit when 3D printed.
The design was tested on a 2016 2.0-litre Mercedes E-Class and fits perfectly. It should fit any car oil filter cap with a 14-point, 74.5 mm AF design.
Features
- 14-point (14 flats) internal profile
- 74.7 mm across flats (74.5 mm nominal + 0.2 mm print clearance)
- ½-inch square drive on the rear for a standard ratchet
- 32 mm external hex on the rear for use with a spanner or socket
(The 32 mm hex offers a lower chance of slipping compared to a ratchet.) - Compact and strong design for easy access in the engine bay
Printing Notes
- Printed with solid walls for maximum strength
- Supports required
- Tested successfully under normal oil filter removal torque
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: Anything you like, I used ABS-GF
- Perimeters/Walls: Solid
- Infill: Optional if walls are solid
- Orientation: Print with the drive end facing down for best strength and minimal support.
