Modular Heavy-Duty Shelving System (3/4" PVC & 4x6 Lumber)

This modular system is designed to combine the accessibility of 3/4-inch PVC pipe with the structural solidity of 4x6 lumber. Whether you need garage storage, a rustic bookshelf, or a heavy-duty display rack, this printable kit allows you to customize the height, width, and number of shelves to fit your specific space.

The System Components

This file set includes three core modular parts designed to work together:

• 1. Base / Top Mount:
  • Function: This is the anchor of the system. It mounts directly to your floor or ceiling (or wall surface) and provides a secure socket for the vertical PVC pipes.
  • Feature: It also serves as the mounting bracket for your very top shelf, locking the structure together.
• 2. Single Hanger:
  • Function: Designed for the left and right ends of your shelving unit. It slides over the PVC pipe and supports the 4x6 lumber from one side.

• 3. Double Hanger:

  • Function: The "expansion" joint. This bracket supports lumber on both sides of the PVC pipe, allowing you to daisy-chain multiple shelving sections together for a wall-to-wall storage solution.

• To build this system, you will need:
• Printed Parts: (Quantities depend on your desired height and width).
• Pipe: Standard 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC Pipe (cut to your desired shelf spacing).
• Wood: 4x6 Lumber (cut to desired shelf length).
• Hardware:
  • Wood screws (for securing the mounts to the lumber).
  • Wall anchors or lag screws (for securing the Top/Base mounts to the wall/floor/ceiling).
