If printed before 1/24/2026, I have replaced the original model with an improved one which should make it compatible with a wider range of materials. If you printed this before, and the hinge would not open, this issue should be fixed now.

This is a reinforced version of my original backpack hook, redesigned to be stronger and more secure for everyday use. It features a beefed-up structure for heavy bags, a smoother hinge, and a new retention piece that keeps the hook from sliding off your handle while you’re carrying your pack. The bottom loop now interlocks with the top loop which limits the plastic bending over time. The design remains compact and lightweight so it can live on your bag full-time. I have integrated small sacrificial supports into the hinge to ensure a clean print; these will simply snap away the first time you rotate the hook. The joint is designed with tight tolerances for durability, so while it may feel stiff at first, it will break in perfectly with a little use.
