Description

This ball mount arm segment is a structural component designed for use within RAM®-style ball-and-socket mounting systems. Serving as the central arm body, it provides the clamping force and articulation needed to securely position mounted devices while allowing smooth angle adjustments.

The arm features a reinforced internal channel that captures standard hex hardware, allowing controlled tightening and reliable compression against the ball ends. The elongated profile offers increased leverage for fine positioning, while the contoured exterior maintains a compact, ergonomic form.

Printed in PLA, this part balances rigidity with precision, producing clean edges, smooth layer transitions, and consistent dimensional accuracy. The red core design also adds visual contrast, making it easy to identify adjustment points during installation or repositioning.

Key Features

  • Compatible with 1-inch mounting ball systems
  • Central arm segment for ball-and-socket mounting assemblies
  • Integrated hardware channel for hex nut and bolt tightening
  • Ergonomic profile for easy adjustment and secure grip
  • High-contrast red core for quick visual identification
  • Single-piece 3D printed construction for strength and consistency

Material

  • PLA - Ideal for indoor use and moderate-temperature environments
  • Comes in the following sizes: 50mm, 65mm, 80mm, 100mm
  • Printed using 50% tri-hexagon infill with 5walls for strength.

Typical Use Cases

  • Device mounting arms (phones, tablets, GPS, cameras)
  • Vehicle, desk, or workshop mounting systems
  • Modular gear setups and custom mounting solutions
  • Replacement or custom-length arm assemblies

Notes

  • You will need a M8x50 and an M8 nut.
  • I noted it's sometimes helpful to heat and smooth the inner ball diameters with a torch (do not overheat)
