Licho is one of the most sinister beings in Slavic folklore. It embodies misfortune, illness, and bad luck, clinging to its victims like a shadow. It does not strike directly — instead, it slowly drains strength, hope, and fortune.

In legends, Licho appears as a gaunt, hunched creature with a mocking grin and lifeless eyes. Often carrying a staff, its presence signals decay, poverty, and death. Wherever Licho walks, things begin to fall apart.

Licho cannot be slain like an ordinary monster. According to ancient tales, it vanishes only when its victim outwits fate or regains control over their destiny.
