Spider 360 Benchrest (5-axis) Top
Print Profile(1)

Description
Hi.
I designed this benchrest top, inspired by Rodzila Raptor 5-axis top, to fit my Ginklast Rest Prestige. Can also be addapted to fit other benchrest stands. It should be relatively easy to adapt bottom plate, to fit any benchrest (let me know if you'd need help with that).
3D model for bottom plate is included, however I used a 5mm stainless steel plate for my top, for improved rigidity and stability. Just cut and drill according to the provided bottom plate 3d model and your benchrest stand, if you decide to go the same route.ž
I recommend printing in ASA or ABS, 0.2 resolution & 80% infill. The top on the picture is printed in ASA, painted in Duracoat bronze.
To assemble it, you'll need:
- 2 x M5 130 mm screws (optional, to strenghten 3D print)
- 2x M5 10 mm screws (optional, to strenghten 3D print)
- 1x M5 90 mm screw (optional, to strenghten 3D print)
- 4 x M3.5 40 mm screws (optional, to strenghten 3D print)
- 2x M5 60 mm screws with square nuts to fix the ears
- at least 8x M4 insert nuts (used typically for wood), like this one - you will need to heat them up before screwing in
- 2x M4 30 mm screws to fix top base on bottom base
- 4x M4 10-15 mm screws for "swingy" endcaps
- 2x M4 40 mm screws to fix swingy parts on ears
- 4x miniature bearings, like EZO 684-2Z
- 0.5 mm teflon self-adhesive plate to use between bottom and top base part for smooth turntable action
- some felt, teflon or whatever you plan to use for ears and swingy, to hold the stock
Here is a youtube short of benchrest top in "garage" action :)
