Please read!

A 0.2 mm nozzle is required, 0.06 mm layer height, no supports. I printed with PLA Basic from Bambu Lab in Black. I recommend using this or another well-calibrated PLA.

 

Edit: In addition to the 3mf file, two STL files “M” and “XS” (see Coupling Distance) are also included. For the STL files, please set the print settings yourself (0.2 mm nozzle, 0.06 mm layer height, no supports). There are no letters on the STL files.


The magnetic coupling has been extensively tested in operation and continuously improved. Traction force is absolutely sufficient; 150 cm trains were pulled over a 1.5% incline without problems. Weaker magnets (N45) were also tested. Traction force was sufficient here too. Only N gauge was tested.
 

Coupling Distance

Since some freight wagons cannot be coupled as tightly, or cause problems in turnouts or curves, there are two different coupling lengths:

 

M = Medium (Freight wagons)

XS = Extra small (Passenger coaches) 
 

The coupling lengths are printed with the corresponding letter on the magnets. There is another letter "S" on the couplings, which refers to the strength of the magnet, as I have different magnet strengths in circulation. The letters can also be removed in Bambu Studio.
 

Magnets

N52 magnets with 1.5mm diameter and 1.5mm depth are used here. I ordered the magnets here:

Assembly

For assembly, the magnets are fully pressed into the holes. Needle-nose pliers can be advantageous as some force is required. No glue is needed. 

 

Compatible with Peho 333 magnetic couplings
