Originally developed for the Draconis Combine, the Crockett—designated Katana in Combine service—was intended as a heavy command ’Mech able to endure prolonged frontline engagements. Emphasis was placed on survivability and consistent long-range fire support rather than experimental technology. Though uncommon outside Combine space, it proved dependable in regimental command lances. On the battlefield, the Katana is typically used to anchor formations and provide steady leadership under fire.
