BMW M3 E30 Incense Burner
All important stuff is in RED
Hi Guys!
I saw this on TikTok, but I decided the $200 price tag was a little too much, so I decided to design one myself. This uses the E30 found in the link above, but with holes cut out in the back to allow the backflow of smoke for an incense cone to flow through.
It's a straightforward print and shouldn't take more than a 3-4 hours total. If you decide to print it and want a nicer finish, I recommend adding variable layer lines (in Bambu Studio), but this will increase print time by 40 or so mins, but in my opinion its not the biggest deal due to the low texture design of the car.
Important stuff.
Please ensure you buy/use a BACK FLOW INCENCE CONE. These cones have a hole in the center through the cone to allow smoke to travel down and through. You need to let it burn for a bit to ensure the smoke can enter the hole.
When printing, please use a high-temperature material, such as ABS. The temperatures around and on the incense cone while it burns are sufficient to melt, deform, or destroy the plastic. PLA will not hold up.
Please add some aluminium foil to where the incense cone sits. The aluminium foil will absorb the majority of the heat produced by the incense cone and will prevent the plastic from deforming. When adding the aluminium foil, make sure you get layers of it and compress it (more surface area = more heat absorption). Add a little hole in the middle to allow the smoke to flow through, though
- (If you decide to not use Aluminium foil, make sure you take the incense off the car before it burns to the end.
- Smell. if you start smelling burning pastic please remove the incense cone and stop use immediately. Check what was melting/burning and fix it by adding more allumunium, if nothing works, leave a message in the comment and ill try fix whatever is going wrong with it.
The easiest way I found to clean this is to use a Q-tip on the large hole and a paper clip unfolded for the smaller holes. A little bit of soap and a tissue goes a long way.
If you guys want an AMS version, let me know! i can try my best, but because i dont have an AMS, I won't be able to test the print profile it.
If you guys want different vehicles let me know too and ill try my best to make them!
