Description

Boost Me (for free)

If this insert helps keep your print room fresh and your air cleaner, a Boost really helps others find it too. I designed this to be a simple, practical upgrade anyone can print and use. Post a make and let me know what carbon you used and how it worked for you!

The Levoit Core 200S is a great little air purifier as it can be controlled with a bluetooth application (and therefore tied into Home Assistant!), but its default filters don't have any carbon filtration and the ones that you can get have very thin matrixes and limited in how much odor and VOC reduction it can actually provide. This print solves that.

The Core 200S Carbon Filter Insert slides directly inside the existing HEPA filter and creates a dedicated chamber for real activated carbon pellets. Instead of relying on a thin carbon sheet, all airflow is forced through a dense carbon matrix, dramatically improving smell and VOC capture.

Perfect for:

  • 3D printer rooms
  • Resin printing fumes
  • ABS/ASA odors
  • Pet and household smells
  • Workshop and hobby spaces
  • and 3d printing in your main living area!

How It Works

  • Print the top, bottom, and 2 TPU o-rings
  • Fill with activated carbon granules (eg 3d printer-compatible material
  • Place the two o-rings in their channels, and screw down the top lid
  • Slide the assembly inside your Core 200S HEPA filter
  • Close up the printer like normal the filter as normal

No permanent modifications to the purifier. Fully removable and reusable.

Compatible Materials

Designed to work with common granular activated carbon such as:

  • Coconut shell activated carbon
  • 3D printer enclosure carbon pellets
  • Aquarium filter carbon

Print Notes

  • No supports required
  • ABS recommended as the shrinkage was taken into account with the filter tolerances. If using something other than ABS, you should print a small test section to make sure it clears the inside diameter of the filter.
  • Print standing upright for best results

Features

  • Drop-in upgrade, no tools
  • Forces full airflow through carbon
  • Refillable and reusable
  • Designed specifically for the Core 200S geometry
  • Low-profile to preserve HEPA performance
  • Cheap to maintain
