Hotpoint / Indesit Dishwasher Cutlery Basket – Heavy Duty Redesign (Reinforced Base)
This is a heavy-duty redesigned cutlery basket made to suit Hotpoint / Indesit dishwashers, created to solve the most common failure point: the bottom of the basket.
I redesigned it because the original baskets are usually made from cheap, weak plastic, and the base always fails over time — especially when you’ve got sharp knives and heavier cutlery constantly pushing through, flexing the bottom, or eventually cracking it. This version is built with a reinforced base structure to improve strength, reduce sagging, and help it last properly in everyday use.
Recommended Print Materials
For best results (heat resistance + durability), I recommend printing in:
- ABS
- Nylon
- PETG (Ok but not as durable)

- SketchUp original design file (for edits and custom tweaks)
- Sliced G-code (print-ready file)
Adjustable / Scalable Fit
If you want it to hold more (or fit a different basket space), the design can be scaled wider to suit your needs — meaning you can make it bigger or smaller depending on how much cutlery you want it to take.
