Description

Open Source Vacuum Turbine Module (Fully Printable)

This is a fully printable, open-source vacuum turbine set designed to be easily incorporated into your own projects. Whether you are building a custom vacuum, a fume extractor, or experimenting with cyclonic separation, this module provides a compact and reliable air-movement solution.

I have included the STEP files so you can remix, modify, and integrate this turbine directly into your own housing designs.

Key Features

  •    Fully Printable: Custom turbine impeller designed for optimized airflow.
  •    Twist-Lock Housing: The housing uses a secure slide-and-twist mechanism (bayonet style) for easy maintenance and assembly without screws.
  •    Open Source: STEP files included for full remixability.
  •    Hardware: Designed around a simple 030 fan/motor.

Bill of Materials (BOM)

  •    1x 030 Fan/Motor
  •    Printed Parts (Housing, Impeller, Cap)

Assembly Instructions

Install the Motor: Seat the 030 motor into the main housing.

Mount the Turbine: Push the printed turbine impeller onto the motor shaft.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Apply pressure only with your thumb in the very center of the blade hub. Pushing on the fins may damage the geometry or snap the blades.

Close the Housing: Align the cap, slide it into place, and twist to lock it securely.

Print Settings

Material: PLA+ recommended for the impeller (for stiffness and durability at high RPM).

Walls: 3+ walls recommended for the housing.

Supports: Can be printed without supports, though organic supports keep the overhangs clean.
