Description
This is a Shell shaped natural loofa soap saver pad.
That was a mouthful! This fun print allowed me to explore different techniques to create randomness within the model without wall, top or bottom layers. This left leaving nothing but the sparse infill to become my entire print.
Following inspiration from Ominous_Fyxen community contribution Get the Most out of Your Slicer- Decorative Sparse Infill Hack! I was able to figure out how to use a 3D honeycomb infill to imitate a “natural” loofa soap pad that you could purchase at the grocery store. I found a pattern that when printed looked as close to a loofa as possible. Then I sliced the model into four parts. Then since each part had it's own process, I could change the angle on all four layers. This gave me enough randomness and texture to get close as close as I could to the real thing.
I'd like for anyone who sees this to get inspired and creative. Let's see what we can do with printing only sparse infill.
