Boost Me (for free)
Hey all,
I would really appreciate if you boost my model(s).
It really motivates me to make more models.
I´ve got some vessels still in line to come :)
A detailed 1:72 scale model of the German Type 212A submarine — optimized for easy printing with a full No-AMS option included.
This is my 1:72 scale model of the German Type 212A submarine.
The model is designed as a clean display piece with a focus on accurate proportions and smooth surfaces.
To make it accessible for everyone, I included a AMS option and full No-AMS option, so you can print it nicely even on single-color printers.
The only differences between the two versions are the white draft marks on the hull and the grey parts on the label and the masts.
The masts itself are optional as well, so you can decide if you want to have them elevated or not. They have to be glued though. Check the pics for the right positioning of each mast.
I will upload the torpedo in a seperate model if you want to print one as well as im using it on all my subs :)
Assembly:
Use the connector pieces to mount each hull piece together like in the picture:

After all hull parts are attatched to each other (they hold in place without glue, glue is optional here), insert the deck inlays:

They are all able to just rest in their position. Just make sure you insert them at the right position, because the shape may make it hard to move them inside the “rails”.
The only two non-optional parts that require glue are the Sonar dome (lower front edge of the bow) and the propeller.
The following pic is illustrating the right allignment of the sonar dome:

The propeller just gets glued to the stern part of the boat without any big surprises.
If you want to use the masts make sure you cut the masts off of the base plate and use some sand paper on the bottom before gluing them to ensure a flat surface. (Hint: I didnt glue them in the pics because I want my sub without masts)
Filaments used:
Main hull parts: Jayo PLA Matte Black
Deck and sonar: Sunlu PETG Black (for the glossy effect)
I used these two different black materials to acchieve different levels of darkness while still using black as the (almost) correct color
Socket: Eryone PLA Gold
Label: Sunlu PETG Black and Sunlu PETG Grey Matte
