SpinDot is a **compact dual-spin fidget: The inner ball sits freely in the cage** and can be spun independently of the frame. The open side surfaces allow you to clearly see the movement – and feel it instantly.
Both axes run buttery smooth – whether you spin the ball or the cage.
**Printed in just 45 minutes, with no supports, no post-processing.** Perfect as a desk toy, gift, stress reliever, or simply as a hypnotic technical object.

One of the Makers also invented a use case that I had completely missed (thank you very much for the great idea!):
“Hi, I printed your SpinDot model and it works great. I had a lot of fun holding the cage and blowing on the ball to spin it up, then setting it down and it turns into a spinning top. I was surprised you didn't mention it in the model description, so I wanted to share this fun experience with you :)”
Update 01/25/2026: For cases where the printer simply doesn't do what you want. Despite over 1000 successful prints, some users still have adhesion problems - for this, I have now generated a “Super Safe Mode” variant. In this, the design of the SpinDot is slightly altered, thus increasing the contact surface - slightly different design, same function, even better adhesion…. See image in print model for details…
Update 01/19/2026: I have just made a “Safe Mode” model available with extra slow structures (inside and out) and a brim on the outside of the cage.
Update 01/17/2026: In the original files, I defined the ball and the cage as one object - so that multiple objects can be printed without separating the ball and the cage. Many thanks for the feedback!
