Description
These TPU sway bar and sway bar link bushings are designed for the 1997–2001 Jeep XJ Cherokee *** with 26mm sway bar *** and may also fit other years as well at WJ, TJ and ZJ models (use your own judgement and measurements).
I’ve personally been running these bushings on my own Cherokee for around a month, including hard off-roading in the Abu Dhabi and Dubai sand dunes. That means sustained abuse, high loads, and hot ambient temperatures, so they’ve been tested fairly vigorously in real-world conditions rather than just on the road.
So far, they’ve held up well with no issues, squeaks, or deformation. TPU provides a good balance between durability and compliance. I printed in TPU 95A HF, which I do think is a little hard; however, I can't say I noticed a difference in handling. It would be interesting to see the results from 90A or 85A with solid infill.
*** Some of the bushings aren't solid infill, as I find 95A TPU is hard enough to withstand this; however, if you aren't confident, feel free to increase the infill to 100%, no problem. ***
Installation notes:
- Make sure all bolts are properly torqued and tightened during installation.
- Make sure to use washers where applicable to spread the load over the bushing
- As with any suspension component, improper installation can cause problems — if installed correctly, these should perform reliably.
