Compact Magnetic Pill Box – Easy to Open, Everyday Use

This compact pill box was designed for everyday use with a focus on easy opening and comfort.
I originally created this design for my grandmother, who has limited hand strength and struggled with traditional pill boxes.

The magnetic closure keeps the lid securely closed while still allowing it to be opened comfortably with one hand. The thumb indentation on the front provides extra grip, making it especially suitable for users with reduced hand strength.

The box is ideal for carrying a daily dose of pills while traveling or for everyday use at home.

🖨️ Printing & Assembly

• Material: PLA or PETG
• Layer height: 0.20 mm
• Infill: 15–20%
• Supports: Not needed
• Print orientation: Flat on the build plate

After printing, the hinges are pressed together by hand.
This is a simple press-fit assembly and should be self-explanatory once the parts are aligned.

🧲 Important – Magnet Orientation

This design uses 6×2 mm neodymium magnets.

⚠️ Magnet orientation is important!
Before gluing the magnets in place, always test-fit them to ensure they attract each other correctly.

💡 Tip:
Use a permanent marker to mark one side of each magnet before installation.
This makes it easy to keep the correct polarity when inserting the magnets into the lid and the base.

Glue the magnets in place using CA glue or epoxy after printing.
