A classic everyday problem: hanging a ceiling lamp, and when drilling holes, dust and dirt fall directly into your face/eyes, and the floor is dirty afterward… and all this, even though you "just wanted to quickly" drill a hole. It's similar when drilling into a wall; here, too, the effort to clean up the mess after drilling is greater than drilling the hole itself

Since there are already some adapters for vacuum cleaners, but none of them worked really well, I thought about it again myself and designed this new attachment:

Features and Innovations:

  • Effectively extract dirt and dust directly while drilling, with high suction power thanks to the nozzle effect
  • Flat design around the drill hole for maximum visibility of the marked drilling position
  • Maximum drilling depth possible for the drill bit
  • Angled hose connection for ergonomic overhead work
  • Enlarged base to prevent tipping
  • No additional parts/seals/screws/clamps needed
  • Robust and stable design that survives everyday construction site use
  • Compatibility with common pipe diameters (35mm), e.g., Kärcher

The print profile is designed for PETG to achieve maximum stability and durability (with any printer), but a PLA print also works

I have used the adapter myself very often now, and it solves the problem perfectly; no more dust and dirt in your face or eyes, no dirty clothes, and no dirt on the floor! Enjoy the model…

I welcome suggestions for expansion as much as a brief review.

I designed the print on Bambulab PETG HF, which is probably why the supports behave differently for you, or are more difficult to remove

The model itself is actually quite good. However, removing the supports is associated with a high effort and leads to almost complete destruction of the actual model

Fits, wobbles, and has play. Scaling helps to adjust it to your own vacuum cleaner, because unfortunately all vacuum cleaners have different tube diameters. However, what really causes headaches are all the supports inside the model

Thank you for the feedback. I will gladly collect the diameters of different vacuum cleaner connections in order to store the corresponding adjusted models afterwards. Yes, the supports are unfortunately a problem, but they can be removed with a little skill. But the model delivers what it promises:-)

A lot of the supports got stuck in the base, had to cut it out with a knife but after that it works fine, glued a bit of thin rubber around the edge to not scratch my walls when using
