Drill Dust Extraction with Vacuum Effect for Clean Drilling

Important Note First

For the drill dust extraction to function, an additional, external component is required:
A seal to the wall in the form of sealing tape.

The model is designed to perfectly fit a self-adhesive foam rubber sealing tape with dimensions of 12 mm × 6 mm.
The sealing tape is not part of the 3D print and must be acquired separately.

The two components can be easily plugged together after printing. Afterwards, the sealing tape can be glued to the bottom part.

Description

The drill dust extraction is a vacuum-operated device designed to perform drilling tasks cleanly, efficiently, and almost dust-free.

The negative pressure from a vacuum cleaner creates a targeted vacuum effect directly at the working area. Drill dust and material residues are immediately sucked away before they can spread in the room or settle on surfaces. At the same time, the resulting vacuum ensures that the device is held securely in the desired position, without additional holding or fastening.

For optimal function, it is recommended to operate the drill dust extraction with a powerful vacuum cleaner, ideally a construction site or workshop vacuum cleaner. Sufficient suction power is crucial to reliably ensure both dust extraction and the holding effect.

The drill dust extraction is suitable for classic drilling with standard drill bits, use with large hole saws, as well as for sawing and cutouts in plasterboard or drywall panels.

The system operates completely without moving parts or electronics and uses only intelligent airflow. This makes the drill dust extraction particularly robust, maintenance-free, and durable.

Future Extensions & Adjustments

The development of an alternative top part with a larger opening is planned, which is particularly suitable for very large drilling diameters and special applications.

Furthermore, the bottom parts can be adapted to special or common vacuum cleaner hoses depending on wishes and needs. Matching adapter solutions are also planned to enable the widest possible compatibility with different vacuum cleaner systems.
