Onyx Vehicle Platform

This is a framework/kit for building different modular vehicles. The vehicles can be used as RC car bodies or put on a printable chassis to display them on shelf, cabinet etc. With this kit you can build 1/10 scale RC car bodies (313mm wheelbase). They have been designed to be used with the Axial SCX10.3 Builders kit chassis (AXI03011) But will most likely fit other 1/10 scale crawler chassis as well with a bit of modifications.

At the moment there are parts available to build 3 different car variants: Pickup Truck, SUV and a Coupe.

There are lots of parts that can be swapped out to customize the builds, e.g. front grille, Bumpers, Doors, Hood scoops, Side steps, bed accessories for the pickup truck etc. More cusotomization, car variants will be added in the future, let me know in the comments if there is something you would like to see added.

Printing tips

• The print profiles contain variations of some parts so every single plate is not needed to be printed
• Each Car model has its own print profile
• There is a “Part Library” print profile that contains parts that can be swapped out/used to customize builds. 
• The print profiles have conservative print speeds/accelerations to improve the quality/surface finish. If prioritize speed over quality you can bump the speeds up to decrease the print times

Features

• 3 different body shapes available, Pickup, SUV & Coupe

   

• All door/hatches work and can be opened

  

• Customization options, e.g. 4 Door version and 2 Door version of the bodies. Different door options. Different Fenders etc.

• Glass inserts can be added to all windows (e.g. 0.4mm transparent PLA sheets work great)

• All lights can be made functional, i.e. there are slots in each lights that can take a 5mm leds (or 3mm leds for the smaller indicator lights) This way you can add an light controller to your build to get functional left/right turn indicators, brake lights etc.
