Bust – Antonín Dvořák

This marble-style bust represents Antonín Dvořák, one of the most influential composers of the late Romantic period, celebrated for his ability to blend classical forms with the musical traditions of his native Bohemia.

Dvořák is best known for masterpieces such as Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”, Slavonic Dances, and Cello Concerto in B minor, works that remain central to the orchestral repertoire worldwide.

The sculpt is inspired by historical photographs of the composer and focuses on accurate facial proportions and his distinctive features, particularly the full beard and textured hair, rendered with strong, well-defined volumes rather than fine surface detail. The approach is intentionally simplified, evoking the aesthetic of classical marble busts while remaining clean and highly readable.
