Description

This file is for 3 different versions of the Fret Rocker, all of which are sized perfectly to fit my gridfinity bin found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1231718-gridfinity-for-stewmac-fret-rocker-fret-kisser?from=search#profileId-1250622

Style 1 - Includes a String Action Gauge. To be honest, I would use this more as a quick check than for exact measurements. The lines are spaced at 1/64", which nearly exceeds what a 0.4mm nozzle can do. I may tweak this later to see if I can improve it or make a file for a 0.2mm nozzle. But I thought it might be helpful as a quick all-in-one gauge.

Style 2 - Has a “Fret Rocker” logo.

Style 3 - Quickest print with no AMS needed. Just a simple fret rocker.

For all styles, I adjusted print settings to make the walls as flat as possible… but you will still probably need to do some manual work to make it perfectly flat depending on your printer. I would suggest running each side over some sandpaper on a deadflat surface and using some sort of square to keep it at 90-degrees. A milled piece of wood would work.

Other than the first layer, which was slightly over extruded, the print was perfect. However, I checked the measurements with my calipers and the text doesn't match. The top of the first line is 1/64, the top of the second is 2/64, etc. This is actually how I want it, but the text says 'bottom of line', not 'top of line'. Not a problem, but you might consider changing it. You might also consider putting (0.4mm) after 64ths to save us working it out.

great suggestions, I’ll take a look at it and see if I can correct it. I’ll see if I can make some tweaks to fix that overextended first layer too.

Great. You might be interested that I accidentally found a way to get really fine text and lines. When I printed this, the initial 'lollipop' that prints at the front of the plate on each print didn't adhere and got dragged to the print area. I spotted this and removed it, but it pulled away the 9 and its line. The result is that the first layer has a gap, but the white fills most of it. I'll try to attach a photo.

Very useful and prints easy. I know the lines don't quite match up because of the filament size but I just compared it to a guitar that I already loved the setup on and matched the lines to that, it worked out great. If nothing else it'll let you know where the high frets are. Great print!
