Description

This is a fully customizable model designed to create the perfect battery holder for any need.

Whether you are assembling battery packs for DIY projects or looking for a clean way to organize batteries in your drawer, this model has you covered!

WARNING:
The default tolerance is fine if you're printing with TPU.

If you're using PLA or PETG, you'll need to increase the tolerance, otherwise you risk damaging the battery's thermal jacket.

I always recommend generating and printing a small grid and testing the tolerances to avoid problems.

Key Features

  • Total Customization: Adjust the number of rows and columns (NxM).
  • Preset Battery Sizes: Quick selection for 21700, 18650, AA, AAA, C (LR14), D (LR20), and more.
  • Custom Diameter: Use the "Custom" option to fit any cylindrical object.
  • Structural Frame: Optional outer reinforcement for a professional and sturdy look.
  • Dual Mode:
    • Open Grid: Perfect for battery pack welding and airflow.
    • Closed Rack: Enable the Bottom Plate to create a solid storage tray.

How to Customize

You can use the Bambu Studio / MakerWorld Customizer to adjust the following:

1. Grid Dimensions

  • X & Y Count: Set how many batteries you want in each direction.
  • Height: Choose the height of the holder. Low for welding (10-15mm), high for storage.
  • Ring Thickness: Adjust the wall thickness of the battery slots.

2. Battery Parameters

  • Battery Type: Select your battery from the list. It uses accurate nominal diameters.
  • Tolerance: Very important! Add a small gap (e.g. deafult is 0.2mm for TPU) so batteries slide in perfectly.
  • Custom Diameter: If your battery isn't listed, set the type to "Custom" and type the exact diameter in millimeters.

3. Outer Frame & Bottom

  • Show Frame: Adds a solid perimeter around the grid, making it much stronger.
  • Show Bottom: If enabled, it adds a floor to the holder. Ideal for drawer organizers so batteries don't fall through.

Thank you for the useful tool, however I think you should specify at the top of your description that the default tolerances are far too tight for rigid materials. Most people don't read the entire description before printing lol. TL/DR 0.2mm tolerance is far too tight for PLA. 0.6mm was enough for me to fit 18650's into the slots using PLA on a P1S. They're not perfectly snug, but work for my use-case as a storage stand.

Thanks for the advice, I added the warning at the beginning of the description. I hope this helps prevent others from doing the same thing as you.

For some reason, trying to generate a 1 wide grid in either direction doesn't work. I need a 1x2 and 1x4 for a project

Hi, what material did you print it with? The 0.2 tolerance is suitable for TPU, I assume you printed in PLA. I always recommend generating and printing a small grid and testing the tolerances with batteries to avoid problems.

I'm sorry about that. I've added more details in a note in the description.
