Description

After the recent reveal of the Jones Soda Company’s Nuka Cola Quantum rocket bottle replica from Fallout, including the absurdly high price for the product itself as well as the shipping price from the company’s website, I decided it would be more worth the money to buy a full spool of Sunlu glow-in-the-dark blue PLA from Amazon for half the price and 3D-print my own version instead! This project took a bit longer than most of my projects to complete from start to finish but you can see some of my work-in-progress photos and the behind-the-scenes of my design process on my Instagram “_jaebii_” if you’re interested!

This Nuka Cola rocket bottle replica is fully game-accurate, resembling the actual in-game 3D model, whereas the “official” Bethesda and Jones Soda rocket bottles are usually designed to reflect the in-game Nuka Cola artwork/poster bottle design, which is actually fairly different! My version is hollowed-out and includes a removable bottle cap that easily pops off and on the bottle, and the bottles can be printed in translucent plastic with a fairly low-density concentric infill pattern to maximize translucency! Personally, I decided to print examples using glowing blue and orange PLA, in an attempt to replicate truly game-accurate bottles of Nuka Cola Quantum and Nuka Cola Victory! And I’m very pleased with the end result!

For the bottle labels, I designed 2D printable paper labels which can be printed on sticker paper and cut out, then wrapped/crimped around the center of the bottle! Ideally, the designs would be curved when printed flat to make it easier to wrap around a curved 3D object, but since the in-game labels are pretty clearly wrinkled and torn, I figured they’d look good enough like this without having to do any complicated math.

I’ve included the label sheets I printed out for the Quantum and Victory bottles, as well as a few other labels/logos that you can use for other types of Nuka bottles!

***Also, I suggest you don’t attempt to print the assembled examples in the project, since the bottle caps won’t be removable and it would be an unnecessary waste of multicolor printing, the examples are just to show what a fully-assembled bottle would look like with the cap on
