Description

Slim and portable phone holder can be especially helpful if you carry your laptop or close the lid often.

Key features:

  • Slim, lightweight, and portable design
  • Deploys in about 1 second for fast and effortless use
  • Compatible with most smartphones (various sizes and brands)
  • Wired charging supported while the phone is mounted
  • Print-in-place design suitable for A1 mini

UPDATE 23/02/2026: Added a cutout for phone holders (such as popsocket) and uploaded print profiles for both left and right side.

UPDATE 27/01/2026: Increase the gap from 0.15 mm to 0.2 mm to reduce the chance for the round part to get stuck.

Attachment is simple: a few short strips of no-trace double-sided tape are enough.

Tape around 1 mm thick and 20 mm wide works best and provides a secure hold without leaving marks.

The model has been carefully tested and adjusted to account for typical variations in 3D printing accuracy.

That said, printers and materials differ, so please let me know how your print turns out. If it feels too tight or too loose, I’m happy to help troubleshoot or adjust the model accordingly.

For best results, drying your filament before printing is recommended, as it can noticeably improve surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

If the circular disk part feels stuck after printing, don’t force it. Gently wiggle it while making small vertical movements around the perimeter until it loosens and moves freely.

For prints settings just modify a bit the 0.20 mm Standard @BBL profile with the following:

Slice gap closing radius: 0.02 mm

Elephant foot compensation: 0.25 mm

Precise wall: yes

Wall loops: 4

Outer wall speed: 90mm/s

Top surface speed: 150 mm/s

It looked stuck so I forced it off and one side became ragged. I think it would be fine if I reprinted it, but I'm satisfied with it now

Great model. I glued it on unevenly, though.)) 3M 1mm tape holds it tightly

Hi, thank you for your comment and pictures, looks great! No worries if it's less than 90 degrees to the edge of the screen in deployed state. Depending on the tape overtime it may move 1-2 degrees.

Hi, thank you for your suggestion! I will add it to my list of improvements. I guess the unfolded foldable phone is about same size as two phones placed next to each other, right? Would you prefer to have it mounted on the side or above the laptop screen?

The side if possible otherwise I can design if it is too much of a hassle

Very clean print, but I can’t get the round piece to rotate. Any suggestions?

Hi, thank you for your comment! It happened to me a few times as well especially when printing with non Bambu filaments. A few things that may help with troubleshooting: 1. Try to wiggle the round piece gently up and down around the edge kind of almost trying to push it out of the main part. 2. Have you tried printing with Bambu filament and using my print profile? I used Bambu Matte PLA White, Black, Brown and every time it was perfect, never stuck. Other cheap filament brands that I used were often inconsistent. 3. Calibrating the printer may help. The gap between the round piece and the main piece is 0.15 mm. You can print some quick models for calibration and check tolerance. 4. Drying the filament may help as well, especially if using non Bambu filament. I'm away from my laptop, but I will try today or tomorrow upload a version with slightly larger gap between the round and the main part. In the meantime, let me know how it goes and if any solution worked for you.

I replaced both profiles for left and right side and increased the gap to 0.2 mm. Hopefully it will fix the issue along with my previous suggestions. Please let me know how it goes.

I was able to wiggle the round piece enough to clear whatever interference was there and got it to rotate. Thanks for the response and care you take in your creation!

Other Issues:I would definitely need it, but the problem was bigger. I tried to separate the two and couldn't because I broke it by force. You would have to leave a little more space between the two places, so it would be easier to break the inner support. but well, I wasted this and thanks for the idea

Hello, I just took it off the print bed, the circular movement got stuck a lot, I was able to fix it but the phone support on the hinges got all marked, I should have waited for it to detach a little more, does the material shrink when it cools down? I am using PLA Lite from the brand Bambu Lab. I'm open to comments. I'm very new to this

Hi, sorry I have never tried PLA Lite. It could be indeed that PLA Lite shrinks a bit more. It could be that it needs to be dried to improve print quality. After printing wait a bit more before removing from the bed and let it cool down naturally until it almost detached itself. If the ring is still stuck, gently wiggle it up and down around the edge but don't apply a lot of force.I hope it helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Try printing with Bambu PLA Basic if you have

Since I'm just starting, I don't have PLA Basic, but I'll try to print one again and let it dry as you suggested, to see how it goes. It's possible I wanted to use it without drying it properly, due to excitement. Thank you very much for your recommendations

Is there anyway you could add a cutout for a popsocket?

Hi, thank you for your comment and for your suggestion! I modified it now and uploaded new profiles with cutout for left and right side. Please try and let me know if it worked for you or if I need to change anything. Looking forward to your reply!

Thank you so much! I had a couple spots that struggled on the initial layer, but that could very well be me needing to clean my plate bed. works great! no issues with the moving parts

Hi, thank you for your comment. What filament are you using? Do you use my printing profile? If you have Bambu PLA Basic try it and print using my profile. Other filament may vary, I only tested a few other brands. Also try to wiggle the round part gently around the edge. I hope it helps you. Let me know how it goes.
