Change Log
- 1/19/2026: Added missing Core generic 3mf for missing geometries other than the shield and the stand.
- 1/12/2026: Added generic 3mfs of dual color shield and stand with colored geometries for slicers other than Bambu Studio. After importing, the bodies sharing the same color should share the same name/prefixes for easy identification and recoloring. These are available under the Download STL/CAD Files button.
- 1/11/2026: There was a mistake in BOM. Instead of 10x2mm magnets, 15x2mm magnets are required. Apologies for any inconvenience!
Exterior Design
The default exterior design features a solar pattern surrounded by fire alchemy symbols. The equator shifts and shows moon phases as the night transitions to day. Please note that in the images the dark gold domes show the final revised design, which fixed some errors and improved layer strength that prevents delamination between 2 materials. The A1 Mini profile provides a blank dome that you can customize, or print as is.
Operation
The lamp features a simple twisting control, which serves both as a master switch to save battery power, and a knob for adjusting the lamp brightness. It additionally features swappable outer shields with a rotate-snap fit mechanism inspired by the Bambu Spool.
Material
PLA Matte white is more opaque than PLA Basic white, and can create more contrast when paired with translucent materials. PLA Metal is a good choice to elevate the power of the orb.
Printing Tips
The dome wall is 1.5mm thick. I used a height range modifier to ensure solid infill through out. Make sure to lower layer height on the dome top to improve bridging. Support is not necessary.
Use a smooth build plate to ensure smooth operation, as the base of the 2 hemispheres will be gliding against each other. SuperTack is used in the test prints. To ensure easy removal, heat bed to 50C briefly and gently bend the plate to detach the shield from the plate.
