Description
Tired of beans clinging to the sides of your Fellow Ode Gen 2 hopper, especially when using RDT (Ross Droplet Technique) to kill static? The original hopper's angle and surface just don't play nice with slightly damp beans — a very common frustration in the community!
I designed this drop-in replacement hopper to solve exactly that problem while keeping your workflow smooth and your grinder looking clean.
Key Features
- Perfect single-dose capacity — Holds 20-25g of beans
- Zero sticking — Steep, smooth geometry + optimized funnel design means beans flow freely every time… even with full RDT
- No more flying beans — Beans stay contained; nothing gets spit out or popcorned during grinding, rotate to cover opening
- Magnetic quick-release assembly — Super-fast removal for cleaning + secure lock between positions (no wobble or misalignment)
- Smooth rotation — Integrated bearing for effortless, satisfying twist-to-lock action
- Clean, minimal aesthetic that matches the Ode's premium vibe

Materials Required
- 5: 12×3 mm Magnets
- Gorilla Glue Gel is a tidy way to secure the magnets
- Bambu Plastic Bearing listed in the Bill of Materials
- Metal Bearing Alternative to the bambu plastic version. Untested but correct dimensions
Assembly Instructions
- Use the original Fellow screws to mount the base plate.
- Insert 12×3mm neodymium magnets (5 total).
- Tip: Use super glue gel (not regular) for setting magnets — much less mess and better control.
- Critical: Double-check magnet polarity/orientation so the funnel and base plate strongly attract each other.
- Install the bearing for smooth rotation.
- Add one single layer of painter's tape around the bearing to take up any slight play (I intentionally oversized the recess to accommodate different filament shrinkage/expansion — tape makes it perfect).
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: PLA (works great; PETG also fine if you want extra durability)
- Supports: PETG support interface (for clean separation)
- Important: Increase flushing volumes to 900 between filament changes (especially important with white PLA to prevent weak layers and color bleed)
- 0.2mm layer height, 3 walls, 15-20% infill recommended for strength
This design has been battle-tested on my own Ode Gen 2 — no stuck beans, no mess, quick daily cleaning.
If you print it, I'd love to see your makes (especially any cool color combos)! Drop a comment with your results or any tweaks.
Happy grinding! ☕
