Model Information:
The Estadio Benito Villamarín in the Heliópolis district of Seville, Spain, is home to Real Betis Balompié and a symbol of Andalusian passion.
- Size: With a capacity of 60,721 spectators, it is the largest stadium in Andalusia and the fourth largest in all of Spain (after Camp Nou, Bernabéu, and Metropolitano).
- Architecture: The stadium has constantly evolved. The most striking feature is the huge South Stand (Gol Sur), completely rebuilt in 2017, which now almost entirely encloses the stadium and forms a massive "wall" of green and white seats.
- Atmosphere: It is known for the singing of the anthem and the battle cry "Viva el Betis, manquepierda!" (Long live Betis, even if they lose), which underlines the unwavering loyalty of the fans ("Béticos").
- History: Here took place one of the most famous games in Spanish football history: Spain's 12-1 victory against Malta (1983).
- Future: A major renovation is planned, in which the stadium will receive a roof and a new facade.
