Description

These are Gliding feet that can go under a bed, sofa, chair, table, etc. that make the furniture slide on carpet more easily. It also distributes the load of the furniture over a wider area, so it should reduce long-term denting in the carpet as well :)

I modeled this for “The Purple Platform Bed Frame” that is no longer sold, but there is a file here that has a raised groove to fit those feet specifically since they are not circular. For most purposes I'd use the plain/circular version.

The diameter of the legs these feet were sized for is 32.25mm = 1.265". If your furniture's legs/feet/what have you are smaller than that you should definitely be able to use these, but if they're too small you may want to consider scaling and/or adding wall loops so you don't punch through.

I've got a generous internal round on the part so you can probably get up to ~38mm = ~1.5" in these but you'd want to watch out in case they slip out. I'd consider scaling at that point.

I printed the model in PETG for a little extra toughness & flexibility to accept any shock from people sitting/jumping/what have you on the furniture. For further strength, I printed with 3 wall layers on a 45-degree angle with gyroid infill. This may be overkill, but I figure it would be disruptive to have the bed fall through its feet in the middle of the night.

The basic print profile uses the capability of the H2D and uses PLA supports which makes the model come off very cleanly and keeps a smooth surface to glide nicely on carpet. This probably isn't necessary but I was playing with the H2D so I wanted to try it.
