3D Miniature of the Orange Vélodrome
Model Information:
The Orange Vélodrome (traditionally Stade Vélodrome) in Marseille, France, is the legendary home of Olympique de Marseille (OM) and the largest club stadium in the country.
- Origin of Name: The name "Vélodrome" originates from the fact that when the stadium opened in 1937, it had a cycling track (Vélodrome) around the playing field. This was only removed during renovations in the 80s/90s to bring the stands closer to the pitch.
- The Wave Roof: The stadium got its current spectacular appearance through the renovation for Euro 2016. A huge, white, waved roof now spans the stands. It not only protects against the notorious Mistral wind but also reflects the fans' noise back inside, which extremely amplifies the atmosphere.
- The Virages: The heart of the stadium are the two curves, Virage Nord and Virage Sud. Here, the Ultras of Marseille reign, known for their gigantic choreographies and uninterrupted noise.
- Capacity: It offers space for around 67,000 spectators.
The file contains a quite detailed replica of the Orange Vélodrome as well as its surroundings.
