Description
If your IKEA MELLTORP table tends to wobble, these brackets let you add wooden braces between the legs to stiffen the frame and reduce shaking (e.g., when the table is used as a workbench or for a 3D printer).
What’s included
- Two bracket types: one is simply a mirrored version of the other
- The mirrored part is needed because the screw direction is reversed (the screw “turns the other way round”) depending on which side you mount it on.
How it works
Mount the brackets to the table legs and screw in your wooden braces. The braces tie the legs together and greatly improve rigidity.
What you’ll need
- IKEA MELLTORP table
- Wooden braces (length depends on your chosen brace layout)
- Suitable screws:
- for attaching the brackets to the legs
- for fixing the wooden braces to the brackets
Printing recommendations
- Print as oriented in the file (no special tricks needed)
- Suggested: 4+ walls and 25–40% infill for a strong functional part
- PETG recommended (PLA can work, but PETG is tougher under load)
Note
Please double-check your brace dimensions and placement before drilling/screwing into the table legs.
