Diatoms are unicellular microalgae with a siliceous cell wall, present in marine and continental waters
They perform photosynthesis and produce a significant amount of oxygen
They contribute to climate regulation They are also excellent bioindicators of water quality, as well as
crucial in forensic expertise
Their size is between 10 and 300 micrometers only microphotography under a microscope can visualize them
