This is a highly-detailed, multi-part articulated figure of Rocky, the brilliant Eridian from the Blip-A spacecraft. The design captures the essence of Rocky's description: a roughly pentagonal, rock-like creature with 4 incredibly useful, three-fingered appendages.

🌌 The History: Eridian Engineer to Humanity's Best Friend

Rocky is one of the central characters in Andy Weir's 2021 novel, Project Hail Mary, which is currently being adapted into a major motion picture starring Ryan Gosling, set for release on March 20, 2026.

Rocky is an alien from the planet Erid, located in the 40 Eridani star system, who pilots his own spacecraft, the Blip-A. He is an engineer sent on a parallel, desperate mission to save his star, which is also threatened by the star-devouring microorganism, the Astrophage. Rocky’s species is visually impaired, perceiving the world through echolocation, and communicates through beautiful, complex musical chords. His friendship with Earth's lone astronaut, Ryland Grace, is the emotional and intellectual heart of the story, as they must overcome vast biological and cultural differences to collaborate and save both their worlds. This model immortalizes that incredible, unlikely partnership.

⚠️ Assembly & Printing Notes (Medium Difficulty)

• Difficulty: Medium. This model is not a simple single-piece print. It is designed for maximum articulation, which means assembly is required.
• Assembly: The parts are not numbered. Please refer carefully to the provided images in the listing to determine the correct orientation and placement of the five limbs and body segments. A drop of super glue is recommended for securing any non-articulated joints, but for the articulated sections, friction should be enough!
• Recommended Filament: A marble-effect or stone-textured PLA works incredibly well to capture his rock-like aesthetic. Silk silver or copper is also a great choice for a more metallic look.
• Supports: Minimal supports are needed, primarily for the limb joints. Check your slicer settings carefully.
