Magnet Dispenser Pen V2 – Capped & Locking Upgrade
Updated 16/02/26 - Now includes multiple size variants in one Print Profile with text on the Main Body (3 colour changes) and a separate Print Profile without text:

This is V2 of my horizontal-printing magnet dispenser pen, updated after some great user feedback (thanks @ff800) and real-world use.
The original goal stays the same: a faster, stronger magnet dispenser that prints horizontally instead of vertically, resulting in fewer layers, better strength, cleaner walls, and a much quicker print (around 45 minutes).
What’s New in V2
- Protective cap added – works like a pen lid to prevent magnets sticking to tools or toolboxes when not in use.
- Magnetic end cap – now contains a magnet so when the slider is fully retracted, it locks into the cap, preventing accidental magnet release, improving the “closed” state for transport and storage.
- Some minor robustness improvements.
Parts Breakdown (V2)
Main Body (Upgraded)
Holds the magnet stack securely. Printed horizontally for strength, speed, and smooth operation.
Sliding Magnet Carrier (Upgraded)
Contains its own magnets which acts as a grabber to push/pull the magnet stack and also to attract to the cap.
Can be printed in red or blue to help indicate polarity.
Magnetic End Cap (Upgraded)
Now includes a magnet so the slider snaps into place when fully retracted, preventing magnets sliding out accidentally.
Protective Cap (New Part)
Fits over the working end to stop magnets sticking to nearby metal when stored or carried. Can also fit on the other end when in use.
