Designed to fit a 5.25" drive above a PCIe device (GPU) that's taller than the 3U accommodates with this ITX rackmount.

Slotted so that you can set the depth of the drive.
This does force the drive all the way to the top of the slot in order to get as thick of a support shelf as possible.
