Description

Miniature Deck Chair (1:10 Scale)

Bring a touch of summer to your desk or diorama with this realistic 1:10 scale miniature deck chair. It is designed to be a quick and satisfying project that combines 3D printing with common craft materials for a high-quality finish.

Materials Needed

To complete this project, you will need:

  • 3D Printed Parts (Files included)
  • Short piece of 1.75mm Filament (To be used as hinge pins)
  • 20mm wide Ribbon (Choose your favorite color or pattern!)
  • 1.8mm Drill Bit (To clean up the holes for smooth movement)
  • Double-sided Carpet Tape (Recommended for the strongest bond between fabric and plastic)
  • Scissors

Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Printing

Print all the components. Standard settings (0.2mm layer height) work perfectly. For the best look, consider using a high-quality PLA or PETG.

Step 2: Preparing the Holes

Using a 1.8mm drill bit, carefully clean out the pre-designed holes in the frame. This ensures that the filament pins will fit snugly but allow the chair to fold smoothly.

Step 3: Creating the Hinges

Align the frame parts and slide a small piece of 1.75mm filament through the holes. Once the parts are connected, trim the excess filament flush with the frame. You can use a drop of glue (Use glue only on one end of the filament) or a warm metal surface to slightly mushroom the ends if you want a permanent lock.

Step 4: Attaching the Seat

  • Cut a piece of the 20mm ribbon (start with approximately 7cm, but you can adjust based on how much "sag" you want the chair to have).
  • Apply double-sided carpet tape to the top and bottom crossbars.
  • Wrap the ribbon around the bars, secure it firmly, and trim any excess material for a clean finish.

Happy Printing!
