Imperial Bookend – Warhammer40K Style

Bring the order of the Imperium to your bookshelf! This robust bookend with its iconic Grimdark look is the perfect accessory for any Warhammer40k fan. It is designed to keep your codex collection, novels, or rulebooks securely in place.

Features:

  • Authentic Design: Featuring the double-headed eagle (Aquila) and gothic skull details.
  • Modular & Stable: The wide base ensures a secure stand, even for heavy hardcover books.
  • Easy to Print: Optimized for FDM printers.
  • Perfect for Painters: The details are ideal for drybrushing and edge highlighting to achieve a realistic metal or concrete look.

Printing Recommendations:

  • Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS (Gray is excellent as a base color).
  • Infill: At least 15-20% (Gyroid recommended for additional stability).
  • Walls: 3-4 walls for maximum robustness.
  • Support: Only minimally necessary depending on orientation.
  • Tip: Glue a piece of foam rubber or felt to the bottom so the bookend doesn't slip on smooth surfaces.

Painting Tip (as in the preview image):

  1. Prime black.
  2. Roughly drybrush with a dark silver/gunmetal.
  3. Highlight the eagle and skulls with gold or bronze.
  4. Apply a dark "wash" (e.g., Agrax Earthshade) for an oily, grimy look.

For the Emperor! If you like the design, I would be very happy about a like and a photo of your make!

Support Issue:no supports on the print caused the skulls and Aquila to fail
Other Issues:the foundation of the print was great, but the skulls and the Aquila were all spaghetti

Greetings, I find it a shame that it didn't work for you right away. The description says "Support: Only minimal support is necessary depending on the orientation". I had no problems printing it here. Could you send me more information about which printer and print settings you used?

OK, I see your pictures now. Could it be that you didn't use supports (tree supports)? Because that would solve the problem.

currently slicing this model and I have to ask. Is this model AI generated? There are a lot of odd bumps and uneven surface artifacts, rivets that isn't mirrored correctly and the top vents aren't centered either. The eagle crest is floating off a centered bulb as if not modeled correctly.

This is intended. It is not supposed to be perfect, but worn and so on
